Discover Canyon Country

Experience the beauty, majesty and solitude of the Utah canyon country in the best way possible: on the back of a BMW motorcycle on a guided motorcycle trip. Majestic arches, spiraling rock formations, and Indian ruins await you on this adventure ride.

Day 1

Day One – Golden, CO to Montrose, CO

Golden to Montrose: Pick up our motorcycles, stow your excess gear, and let’s head up scenic Clear Creek Canyon before picking up I-70 for Georgetown, CO. Ascend to 12,200 feet over Guanella Pass and drop down to Hwy 285 for a quick trip over Kenosha Pass and then dirt roads over 12,200 ft Marshall Pass. The guided motorcycle trip will take us on a quick diversion up to one of the hidden Colorado gems; Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park for a view of the amazing spires in the 3000 ft deep canyon.

Day 2

Day Two – Montrose to Moab

A lightly travelled, well paved tarmac winding along a picturesque river should inspire any rider. Combine it with a beautiful canyon road climbing into the Lasalle Mountains and you have an epic ride. Now throw in a 4000 foot drop down a small paved twisty tarmac with amazing views of the Fisher Towers followed by a final winding, scenic stretch along the mighty Colorado River and you will begin to understand why this is one of my favorite days of riding.

Day 3

Day Three – Moab: Enjoy a day of touring Arches National Park, hiking Canyonlands, white water rafting the Colorado River, or mountain biking the world famous Slickrock Trail. Moab, Utah has too much to offer to not spend a full day here on your guided motorcyle ride.

Day 4

Day Four – Moab to Monticello: Leaving Moab we will take Hurrah Pass to Cave Spring Trail and Hwy 211. Leaving Hwy 211 the guided motorcycle ride will head into the Abajo Mountains, Abajo means “blue” in Navajo, and then over to Monticello, Utah.

Day 5

Day Five – Monticello to Bluff: We will follow Montezuma Creek down to Hovenweep National Monument, one of the most significant paleo Indian ruins in the United States. After spending 4-5 hours visiting Hovenweep we will ride over to Bluff, UT for the night. Bluff is a beautiful small town surrounded by sand stone bluffs overlooking the San Juan river.

Day 6

Day Six – Bluff to Bullfrog Landing: Starting the day with a diversion to world famous Monument Valley, Arizona. We will then follow the Trail of the Ancients up to Natural Bridges National Monument. Following a quick tour of Natural Bridges we will explore the Bears Ears and then head down to Bullfrog Landing, where we will take the ferry across Lake Powell to stay at the Bullfrog Landing Marina.

Day 7

Day Seven – Bullfrog Landing to Boulder: Deep in the heart of Utah’s canyon country we will follow the Burr Ridge Trail up the west side of Capitol Reef National Park and then head up into the Water Pocket Fold and in to Boulder, UT.

Day 8

Day Eight – Boulder to Green River: We start out of Boulder on Hwy 12 and then ride through Capitol Gorge and the South Desert of Capitol Reef National Park visiting Cathedral Valley and the Temple of the Sun and Moon.

Day 9

Day Nine – Green River to Golden: most motorcycle tours would have a repeat ride on the final day: Not at 106 West! We will ascend 4000ft/1200m of winding dirt road into the Bookcliffs. Then proceed over remote Baxter Pass and drop down to Fruita, CO.
